RWD Conversion Complete...one word...AWESOME!!!

#1 Soft steering as already mentioned, cant feel when your losing traction soon enough.

#2 300+ extra lbs = more pressure on tires = less traction at speed
#3 Much loser (motor mounts, etc), less aggressive camber, higher ride height, body roll etc, will ride outside edge of tires in turning and lose adhesion quicker.
Ride height, camber, body roll, etc.. are all easily fixed with a proper suspension and suspension adjustment.
If you think the GT2 is a widowmaker, wait until some of the dragstars try to take some turns.

If you plan on road-coursing the car, you should install LSD to prevent lift/wheelspsin in the corners.
If you do it right, the car will be faster in a straight-line, stop quicker and handle better. Guaranteed.
If you half-*** it like some people, you'll probably be dissapointed.

So, has anyone changed the front whel carrier and surrounding parts to the GT2 spec?
I would think this will also improve handling...
Says the guy who is really interested in having a RWD 4 seater Turbo.

not saying it's not possible, of course it is possible. what I am saying is it's not the ideal set up for drifting. if going sideways is what you want to do there are much better choices of vehicles to do that.

And the Turbo is the same car with AWD and PSM. And if you want to get technical, some suspension bits.
They are the same car.

So, who is the unintiated?
They are the same car, one with eletronics to help most unitiated (to borrow your word) to stay on the road, one without for those who can handle RWD with some HP.
similar is not the same. do the handle they same? you should know you have owned both. the list is long in the differences. if the GT2 is perfect for going sideways why isn't there a single rear engined car in the D1 series? out of all the cars they can choose why don't you see a single porsche?

On a side note, I'm considering building one of these cars (less than 10 grand for a decent one!) just for a fun toy...
OK, back to regularly scheduled programming...

Without the PSM and AWD, the GT2 goes sideways on command. This is how it earned the death trap reputation with most people who have the $$ for one, but not the basic skills required for one.
The Turbo, applying the same technique of slight turn on the wheel, foot to the floor in first, caused the PSM and AWD to work furiously to try to keep the car straight.
Both from personal experiences driving them.
Outside of taking out all the sound deadening and heat insulation in the trunk (can't carry fish and meat), a different front suspension and carrier, losing all the plastic undertrays, AWD, and PSM, they are the same car.
I have seen the video. so what? like I said similar isn't the same. there isn't one rear engined porsche in the D1 series of all the top drifters. they can choose any vehicle and not one porsche. why?
like I said, I would love to meet up with you anytime to witness your sideway prowness. maybe you can teach me a few things. I would to learn. pm me and I will meet up with you anytime. and we can do some friendly comparisons.

I was at an amateur event of theirs on Sunday at Willow (took a fun ride too!) and they shared this with me...it's definitely not an ideal car for it but it can work well if set up right. Even the 240's require drift specific suspension setups (they mostly use Tein drift specific coilovers and big rear sways!).
