the 450 and 444 HP difference is due to the different standards of measurement (seen it before)...There is no way on earth that the PCM accounts for the 110lb weight difference...I took mine out once and it is not that heavy...

I agree with you 100% msindi, but that is the only stated difference, I am always suspicious Porsches stated weights along with ferrari and others, but for arguements sake why would porsche state different weights?

Guy - I was thinking maybe the brochure that said that (1540 kg DIN for TT) was an 01 brochure which did not include PCM II, Bose, dimming mirrors, rain sensor, glovebox and some other features....

I have the two brochures sitting on my desk, one is 02 when I got my car and the other is 04 when I went to look at turbo cab, glove box is stated in both brochures.

Weighed my car today on calibrated scale. With a full tank and sun roof included; 3560 lbs. I think that 3395 was a pipe dream. If thats without gas then its rediculously misleading since you cant drive the car without gas.
I guess they are not called porkers for nothing!

If you take 3395 ( 2002 " dry"weight per brochure ), add about 110 lbs for full gas tank ( model year 2004 weight per my '04 brochure ) and add approx 40 lbs for sunroof you are at 3545 lbs . If you have stuff like lumbar support and heated seats , that could bring you right to 3560 !

Something is not right with that number . Subtract driver and weight of Tip tranny and your car would weigh 3200-3250 lbs with half tank of fuel ? That's 100 lbs lighter than the RWD GT2 .

Let's see 3400 plus 60 lbs for half tank fuel plus 100 lbs for Tip plus 175 lbs for driver plus 40 lbs for I presume a sunroof = 3775 lbs .
If you stripped the interior and the trunk to bare metal with one racing seat, lost the exhaust, added heavier wing and brakes, but slightly lighter Kinesis wheels , I can't see how that adds up anywhere close to 275 lbs .

The stuff we did was this:
1)CF hood -25 pounds
2)Rear seats -25pounds
3)GT3 seats- -80 pounds
4)Light weight battery -38 pounds
5)Light weight brakes -45 pounds
6)Light weight wheels - 7 per corner in the rear and 5 up front.
7)Wiper and motor delete -12 pounds
8)Ligt weight exhaust - 30 pounds
9)Removed spare tire and tools - 25 pounds

AWD is in tact... and I can't remember off hand what we did.

Oh I think the PSS9s were a bit lighter too... I also think we had more than 1/2 tank of gas.. but who's counting

we didn't strip the car.. just improved it

The scale I used was a scale for moving trucks which had been certified by the state as accurate.

I don't think those scales are real accurate. I weighed a previous Porsche on the same type scale, and it was almost 3100 lbs. When I finally weighed the car (in the exact same configuration) on racing scales (very accurate scales), it weighed 3014 lbs.
