marcog is infamous around these parts
MAF electrical wire

I went to the $tealer, which I rarely do (usually deal with race mechanics), because I was in a rush on my way to the track. I guess they disconnected/reconnected the MAF wires. Now the plastic wiring housing seems a bit abused.

Any chance that my newest MAF failure is due to faulty wiring? I did take it out and cleaned it with contact cleaner and lights are still on; I was curious as to the possibility that the wiring was faulty due to what seems hard pulling? I have the Vflow with oiless filter so can`t be that.

I also noticed that the wiring was indeed hard to pull out of MAF, did you fellow MAF consumers have difficulty in pulling it out?

cheers

marco

I not sure exactly what you are describing but Im guessing its the wiring harness that clips to the top of the MAF. They can be a little hard to remove and there is a rubber boot which fits over the clip. Maybe the boot was just messed up/ out of place? I doubt that is the cause. Take a close look at the diode in the MAF. If it is not straight and normal looking than it is probably fried from a voltage spike. Hopefully a new MAF will be available from EVOMS soon. Hope that helps. Rob
