CEL Question.......

So I had a couple of posts a while back. The first one was that I was getting a ABS and then immediatly after a PSM Cel shortly after starting my TT. Most felt that it was probably the Mass air. Of course the car is running well, no change there. So I figured I would live with it till I got a chance to take my car in.

Then I posted that my brake lights weren't coming on consistantly. If I stabbed the pedal, it would come on.......(almost slapping it) but if I just push it.....doesn't work.....I figured and most agreed that it was probably the micro switch behind the pedal......

But then I had to drive it the other day.....and I noticed something odd. A clue. And I want to see what you guys think.

I have narrowed it down. When I start the car.....I can drive it forever without the ABS/PSM cels coming on.........UNTIL I hit the brakes a couple of times.......it's only after using the brakes.....that I get the cel's.....they are definatly connected. So my hope is ......that by fixing the brake light issue...it will take care of the CEL issue.

Anyone heard of this?

I looked for the microswitch but can't find it. Can anyone describe the location of this so I can find it?

Thanks

Chris

I'm not sure there is switch for the brakes is down there (like the clutch one).

I think you are on-track with your analysis so far........missed the earlier thread but not sure why anyone would suspect MAF....I'd take that out of the equation.
Good luck.......keep us posted.

Try bleeding the brakes. You may have low pressure after a few uses due to air. However, I would find out what code the CEL is.
