Cooling the IC's

What do you guys think of running these on the intercoolers?

I am having a custom nitrous intercooler cooling set-up installed in my car in a couple of weeks. These set-ups can add considerable power, particularly if it is hot outside.

I toyed with it for years and I'll tell you this... it works for about 60 seconds only with a 10 pound tank (if you spray properly). I think it can help when hot but for very short spurts.

60 seconds is all I need for 10 full runs. :D

craig, i wuold think this is pointless w/ methanol injection (as i believe you are running). the methanol should cool the air charge as much as the kit you referenced.

If the methanol is setup properly, as in injecting it AFTER the intercoolers, then yes it works very very well.

The CO2 sprayers are neat but it would be a far better idea to shoot a small nitrous shot into the motor, and cheaper too.

Craig

I was thinkin' you'd actually get 60 divided by 9 runs;)

So the nitrous is just sprayed on the intercooler right? It doesnt enter the air that is flowing in the system? Do I need any additional programming to run this with a gt700?

If u guys are trying to beat some 1/4 mile time or something.. then I understand going this way.... but if not.... imagine refilling the bottle all the time... its such a hassle and u will see how soon u forget that u even have this system installed... I sprayed my NOS in my other car 3 times and forgot all about it.. waste of money and time.
my suggestion.. get some serious ICs and ull be fine...
just must my .02 cents worth.

curious, why go through all the rigamaroo and waste the nitrous externally for short and marginal results? why not just shoot it into the inatake where it's the most effective?

dont waste your time or money.

Correct. No extra programming required. It is already being used on one or more 996TTs (I am not at liberty to disclose).

I am getting two bottles, each of which will hold approximately 60 seconds worth of Nos. I can refill the bottles nearby my home.

Ps: I already have the "serious ICs". However, these coolers can provide substantial additional cooling, particularly on warm days/nights, thereby increasing HP significantly.

Certainly the more effective way to go, but I am simply not comfortable with an intake shot of Nos. My own insecurity.

I prefer NOS in my mouth than in the intake. It would keep my MAF clean thohilarious
