Roadtrip and help requested!

Hello everyone, I know I haven't posted much this year but I've been insanely busy. This is not necessarily on topic but I did drive the Turbo the other day and was reminded about why I love this car. Unfortunately, it seems to be leaking oil so I'll need to figure out what is going on.

So about a month back, I went on a road trip with the family. Here's the link to my set. I'm still adding pictures so check back for updates.

On a seperate note, I remember reading in an issue of Road & Track or Car & Driver about this road off of National Trails Highway/Route 66 that the magazine had once used for a high speed run to test a Camaro? Trans-Am? There's a story around the road if I remember correctly, something about a woman convincing the gov to build and how this is visible from the highway. I think I found it, Memorial Drive on I-40 in CA but I'm not sure and I would sure love to find the story again. I'm sure a bunch of car nuts would likely know what I'm talking about.

I can't remember it and it's driving me nuts so any help would be much appreciated!!!

I'm amazed you can do so many miles with the family in tow.
I went on a 2500 mile "walkabout" last year in my 996, all around Nevada, Airzona, Utah, Wyoming etc, and I did 500 miles a day and was wiped out and I was alone, just me and the nav system (and sat radio of course).

Fabulous pictures though. Thanks for the tip on I-40 memorial drive, I'll look for that on the map and try it. I usually hit "little panoche road" between 101 an I-5, it's a desert road, not particularly great, but flat, local and about 10 miles straight with no one around.

I managed 196mph on there on a GSX1300R Hayabusa bike, 187 on an R1 and I've managed 170 in the Pcar before I had the SC and springs (it went light and scary, I think it'll be ok now though).

Since the SC and PSS9's have been done, I think it's time I go back and get the C2 sparred up.

:-)
