Sold my Twin today!
Wow, thanks guys. Jett and I fly off in the morning at 6:20. I have already started to loose sleep. One day and counting.
My car had the stock nose put back on it per the owners request so when it rolled out it didn't even look like my car. The boys were bummed when I pulled the techart off. We did that Sun.
Cleve, great pic!

Congratulations Stephen. This board is lucky to have folks like you willing to go Frankenstein on a brand new car. Keep us posted and let us know what you think of the car in its stock form as compared to tuned 996 Turbos at stages 1-4. Enjoy!
Oh boy!!! Jett (my son not a pun) leave at 6:20 in the morning...Can't wait. The car has already recieved its first mod and I was only directing it from afar! LOL, they tinted the windows for me!
I must be insane, the first thing I want to do is pull that motor apart and see what we have. So much is unkown about the car. Give me a little time and I will have it figured out. My wife encouraged this! Sometimes things are just to much fun.

I am sure many of you are wondering where the heck I went. Well the car is home but the journey was not without its problems.
My son and I woke up on Wed morning about 4am to catch a 6:20 flight. We got there with 25 minutes to spare and went to check in. First class always guarantees a clear path to the desk…right….well maybe, but it doesn’t guarantee that they will not let your seats go! They gave my seats away. So they offer to put me in coach and my son on one end of the plane and me on the other. Like hell I said. You are not going to put my 7 year old next to a stranger on the other end. So they didn’t, they put us on a 10:00 flight. We get to Chicago and the dealer has arranged for us to be picked up in a white stretched limo. Not bad and my son got a kick out of it.
The dealer was awesome. Windows were tinted, car was prepped and the guys were great. The Porsche Exchange really does a great job. We pick the car up and head out of town. We stopped for some lunch then stopped by target to pick up a battery charger for the car since my cell was going dead. Finally at 3:30 we headed to KC. At some point in my conversations with customers and vendors on the phone the Nave decided to take me through Des Moines instead of St Louis. This takes us about 2.5 hours longer.
Not thrilled Jett and I made the best of it. As my wife said it could be worse…well it did. About 10PM Jett is watching a movie and I am cruising along about 95 and out of no where a baby dear pops in front of the headlights. No time to react no time to do anything. I hit him. I wait for the sounds to see where he went since it was dark I couldn’t see. The car didn’t even move. I thought, wow, that could have been worse. At that time my coolant light, driving light, parking light and washer warnings come on. I pull over and look and the turn signal and grill are popped, there is a crack or two in the bumper and a massive amount of coolant pumping out of the front end. We are 200 miles from KC. I call my wife see calls the tow service we use in KC and they head up to come get me. At 1:30 am he picks me up. I will skip the details about the Iowa Deputy and the three morons/thugs that approached me in the middle of no where on a black highway. Lets just say it is nice to be a blackbelt. We finally arrive at the shop at 4:30 am and home about 5am.
What is interesting is looking at the car in the front the bumper and damage didn’t look that bad. Some cracks and the turn signal, driving light was damaged but the rest seemed ok. We pulled the bumper and realized that the bumper had actually come far enough back to pop the tire and smash the front and side radiator, condenser, front and back ducts, side ducts, grill, bumper, inner plastic cover, and bent the support brackets to the radiators. The good news is it is all just stuff and no real damage was done. About 3K in parts my cost and a freaking 800.00 tow bill and that is it. Needless to say I now know more about the new cooling system then I ever wanted to know. What is more entertaining is the parts manual is wrong and there is no availability for a lot of the parts. I spent two days arguing with Porsche and the pictures they were sending. Two of the radiators they sent were bad. One was cracked the other popped the end tank off when the car came up to temp and left me at a buddies shop only to tear the nose off again and crimp the damn end on. I have now received about 10 wrong parts that Porsche swears is the right piece. Lord.
The car is up and running again with the two cracks in the bumper. So it looks like my first mod will be a new bumper J
