Never say never, but shaving another 10% off of this record time will be difficult. I.e. going from 8.33 to 7.99 is a lot easier than going from 3.33 to 2.99. I'd predict, as the weather gets better, this record keeps dropping by a couple hundredths here, a few there, etc.

Hope to see it happen though.

well since the max decline is 3% and this was done a 0.01 ..you could find a nice straight with a slight decline and 50* weather.. I can see a 3.1x

even though it is very warm across the country it maybe helping with traction on these high hp cars. even when the weather gets cooler the increased hp due to cooler air maybe offset by a slight loss in traction in the first 3 gears

That sounds plausible... but if an optimum-condition 3.19 is recorded/verified, it's still a tough-task to find two more tenths on top of that, once you're at this level, which is why I replied what I did to TwinTurboM3.

IMHO of course.

All Scott has to do is to show up at MIR in the fall...that track alone is 10% faster than the rest of the country!

I've always had better times at Atco and E-town, but MIR is closer and has a longer shut down.

More to come, that is the scary part! MIR will be interesting this fall.
Thanks, Neil.

Congrats Scott. Simply amazing performance from a tank of a car. Imagine if you could yank 200-300lbs out of it...

Let me know when you go to either one...I am closer to E-town now and have been there a few times this year so far...

if so, thanx! i try to see how good it can be in the trim that i drive it in everyday. and we dont have race gas on pump around here (or else id daily drive it on 100 octane!)

i have to try to order some ms109 and see what it does.

Fantastic job, Switzer and Scott!

Scott,
I remember the vids of your 996TT, pulling away during a roll-on against the M6.
It would be great to see another vid, but with the GTR.
I'd be interested to know what a 3.xx second 60-130 looks like from the "loser's" perspective!

I agree with Mike, it is amazing how effective these cars are.

Congrats again to you, and also to AMS.
They keep raising the bar, too!

Gonna be a lot of happy customers out there!

Mike - ya, 300 lbs lighter would be pretty insane. I'll let you know when I head to MIR. E-town is too much of a haul for me.

Thanks, bro. I plan on getting a vid of my car on either 93 or 100 octane against my buddy's stock 997 GT2 RS for a comparison vid. Should also have a vid against Peter's 900 rwhp Protomotive 996T, as well as a 1,000 rwhp TT Cobra.

Not sure when I'll get a vid of the car on full-boost (Q16), though. Probably in TX next year.
