Hes probably talking about the construction on the inside of the wheel, it holds water in the rain or after a car wash and causes vibrations, i think from the revers drop lip, you shouldnt have theproblem since your steplip though correct?

So how is the "channel problem" isolated to just HRE's?

Honestly i know how stupid it sounds, considering other companies have the exact or similar wheel construction, but HRE's are the only wheel's that are known to have this problem

The well-known channel problem on the inside of the wheel. When HRE's are driven in the rain, water collects in the channel and throws your wheels out of balance. The water stays there until you wipe it out.

I drove a friends' M5 with HRE's from Montreal to NYC in torrential rain. A wicked vibration in the steering wheel started once the rain came down. It went away once the rain stopped and we pulled into a rest area and got as much of the water out of the channel as possible.

I'm surprised you haven't heard of this problem.

I've heard of the problem, just didn't know there was an official name for it. I'm still trying to visualize the issue. Where is this channel located on the rim half?

I'm sure you know but its on the inside of the wheel, not much to describe other than a groove inside for water to collect!

This problem exists in all reverse style multi piece rims with low profile tires. This problem is not isolated to HREs---
