Unichip vs. flash program

I just bought a 996tt and want a little more power. I'm looking at the unichip and the flash programming and there seems to be big price difference. Is the flash that much better or are there some negatives with the chip? Any input would be helpful.

I suggest you do a search...flashing the ECU provides amazing results, but you should shop around. A lot depends on where you eventually want to go.

I would stay away from any HP upgrade that uses an interference signal to jam the ECU to feed it false readings to achieve higher values. M7.8 is far more sophisticated than that and the results are often never achieved as advertised not to mention typically you have to cut into the harness.

Flashing wipes the ECU clean and lays in a new program based on all the parameters originally set in by Bosch and Porsche. The end result is typically a much better powerband, driveablity and reliability unmatched by "piggyback" systems.
