Yeah guys, I went with Drew today to check it out. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Such a beautiful car in superb condition.

Martin, I'm working the techart GT2 bumper for his car... any frontal pics of yours? That would seal the deal...

Watch out for the kid terrorizing philly in the tt for now on.

Joe

NP man, what's up Joey :PBtw love where your head is at with the modding, if I had to go one way it would be track and fun, not aesthetics but ultimately like do do a bit of look and lots of go as well, form and function baby lol

LOL Joey, what's up again, yea let me try and get some pics up, my pc crashed, $3600 computer from dell and it won't even boot up. I have a few pics on my phone which is like a damm pc so I will try and upload from here, but it seems your friends head isn't towards modding the body and just track, I don't blame him Martin

To be honest with you, I rather have an M3 especially ZCP for a track car instead of a 996tt, even though the turbo is MUCH faster and has a lot more grip from being wider and awd, m3 is still a more fun experience driving wise on the track stock for stock, although it took me a while to get my car to a liking that surpasses my track setup m3, its possible though with some good money and of course rwd!Goodluck

its more about the overall experience the turbo gives me on the track...the extra engineering (stock for stock) is just exponentially better. Also, I really want to be able to safely (and quickly) run events in rain and when traction isnt at its best. Also...I cant part with my M3 for DD...its just too cool.

Ahh I see, very true although I do think the M3 is a far better track car out of the box, the turbo is no slouch either, both are amazingly engineered cars. I cannot wait to buy another e46 M3 as a dd and occasional track car, even if I get the gt2 or 997 gt3 I'm planning on I would still track the m3, they are awesome machines

I know what your saying...but after taking the M(stock on the track) and then just taking a normal Carrera on the track...the differences were just amazing...and the Turbo lets one really push on the power at that apex with little drama due to the awd system...and the smoother it feels the faster you are...

Yea, what's awesome is how fast the turbo is without even trying and with so much confidence, even with stock (ROW euro x73) suspension it ate up turns at insane speeds, too much confidence or relaxed I might add haha, can get you in trouble if one isn't prepared or experienced to handle a rear engined back end swinging out, I love that thrill though especially being light, rwd with lots of power, now with sway bar I can control the back end so much more also, its amazing what simple things do for cars!!!

the best thing for ANY porsche driver is to take a racing school and learn the nuances(sp?) of "smoooooth"...meaning no abrupt movements, knowing and FEELING the physics of a car at the limit, and understanding weight transer concepts.

The porsche(911 for the most part as the cayman is WAY more balanced) is a definite double edged blade in that it CAN take one SOOO far and can achieve really fast lap times yet at the same time it can all come out with a simple TTO twitch ( Trailing Throttle Oversteer for the non "Trackies")

Drew, don't forget how many more mods it would have taken to compete in your M3... nowhere CLOSE to "showroom stock" which would result in getting beat by faster cars rather than more skillful drivers. The turbo lets you do that now.

AND you said you're still going to take the ///M to the track a few times as well anyway...

best of both worlds!

nah, showroom stock would have been all equal drivers...but ya, if I did decide to finish my M3 and go into whatever class it would have fallen in...someone else with more money into the car and the same amount of skill would walk away(with me...my life ala PINKS). But as you said Joe, the Turbo will bring this more to a drivers race which is where Im at...
