New owner-2002 996TT-Formal Intro
Figured I would do a formal post/thread for my new-to-me car.
I bought my car last last month (August 25, 2006).
The car: 2002 Seal Grey Metallic 996TT with 49,497 miles. Graphite Grey Full Leather interior. 6-Speed. Completely stock. - US$62,500.00 (US$67.5k out the door after Tax, Tag, Title). The car was purchased in Porsche of Orlando, Maitland, Florida.
Option list is short as the car is pretty much a standard item:
Y29 - Aluminum/Chrome X71,X70,X54
XSC - Porsche Crest in Headrest
M6P - Graphite Grey Floor Mat
C02 - U.S. Standard/Emissions
696 - AM/FM Radio with CD Player
982 - Supple Leather Front and Rear
The deal:
45k miles service was done.
4 New Michelin Pilot Sport tires
Fully detailed
Full tank of gas
Porsche Certified Pre-Own Warranty (2years/100k miles)
New set of floor mats
New battery
Battery Tender
60K service and brake fluid flush (this is around US$1,600.00 service at the dealer).
Done so far:
A few repairs:
Sunroof rear seal glued back in place.
Asked the dealer to check battery drain (battery tender would not go off after a few days plugged) - Generator replaced under warranty - PN - 997-603-012-CX
Mods:
Pedal Set Installed (see photo)
Short Shift Kit (pending install, I will do it when the center console arrives)
Center Console from Eric (www.bumperplugs.com) (pending arrival)
Clear Side Markers from Eric (www.bumperplugs.com) (pending arrival)
Carbon Fiber Shift **** (pending arrival)
Also spent a few hours over the long weekend completely detailing the car (clay bar, cleaner, polish, wax, leather treatment, etc... ufff but at least it is now clean
)
Cheers!

Photo of the pedals. Got them from CargraphicUSA. I am aware that those are not the Cargraphic pedal set we are use to seeing... but I ended up keeping them. The grip is much better than the original Cargraphic units. Might not look as sharp, but they work very nicely (plus they also have the Turbo script that I was thinking of painting black to make it stand out more...) .
