New Member Intro from Texas
A quick intro since I joined the forum a couple of weeks ago prior to going on a vacation. I'm posting here since I have decided that the next car will be a 996TT so I'm trying to learn and get up to speed on it.
My first Porsche was a 993TT and I absolutely loved that car. Reliable, a tad heavy, but FAST. That was a car that initially exposed me to the road course driving schools and got me so hooked that I ended up being an instructor and SCCA club racer. I have since slowed down on the track stuff due to other priorities and have driven a 996 Cabriolet for the past 3 years and while it was a great cruiser car, it's time to come back to my favorite Porsche - the turbo!
I have had the opportunity to drive a lot of Porsches (that happens when you instruct and find yourself at the track 40+ days a year for 2 years...) and while I was torn between the GT3 and the 996TT, I have accepted that it is going to be on the street 99% of the time.
At this point, I'll be looking over the next few months for my next car and will attempt to contribute to the forum when I can, but it'll probably be more to ask questions initially
.
Looking for a 2003 or possibly a 2004 996TT X50. I'm very flexible on exterior color (yellow, red, silver, black, grey are all good) but interiors, I prefer black, dark gray or red.
This looks like a great forum and looking forward to being an active member!
