How is the OEM Bose stereo?

My 997TT is due in late next month. I typically scrap at least the woofer on most all my Porsche, just to get a bit more bottom end. What is the opinion of those with them of the quality of the OEM stereo (Loaded Bose)..and if not good have any changed anything, and lastly (whew!) is it hard, or pretty much standard?

Basically, how bad is the factory stereo I ask with no disrepect

Lemme know...
Sam

Bose is very boomy on the P with the subwoofer. I turn off the LOUDNESS on the HU and turn down the BASS. Otherwise, the stereo would rock and boom like a pickup truck with cheap 12" woofers. My preference is punchy bass, not boomy bass.

Bring some of your favorite music to listen at a dealer. I have an E320 with Bose and the P car sounds better. However, it won't match a Mark Levinson in a Lexus.
