Very Very Sorry
Very Very Sorry
for the downage today. Aparently, our database got corrupted, and at the same time, our ISP's tape library machine was having issues.
They could not restore our database all day until just an hour ago. We are in search of a more robust ISP to prevent further disruptions.
Again, We appologize.

Did they use a two day old copy to restore from? That would explain the missing post from as far back as 1/25. If my backup procedures could not recover data and we had to use a 2 day old copy to restore, I would be selling my Pcar and looking for a new job.....
Just don't let it happen again!!!!
It was really weird doing actual work today. I will not stand for it!!!! Do you hear me guys???
If you force me to spend another day working, it will be curtains for all of you!!!
Hahahahahahahahaa!!!!!

Sorry but this is unacceptable from your ISP. You better get a SERIOUS refund. What is their SLA policy?

I find out they have ONE tape library for their hole operation. Sounds like mis management, poor CIO in control, and ****ty SLA.
Customer service is not their priority. So much for Venturesonline.com
Looking for a better ISP with dedicated servers and seperate dedicated video server.
I **** my pants when I saw no data after their first recovery, and an email confirmation from them stating "its fixed" YIKES.
Yes, it looks like we lost 30 hours of Data. Unacceptable.
We need to start a 6speedonline dedicated server and connection fund. I know what a pain in the *** it is to rent space thats why I have my own Proliant server with RAID and dedicated T1 connection. It's the only way to fly!
I assume this is why I couldnt get in touch with you today... Call me tomorrow to discuss business (YUCK!).

Some of my best posts were in those 30 hours !!
Now I have to go and try to be creative all over again

just kidding... I can be creative anytime, anywhere... just watch
Have you checked out Hostway? www.hostway.com
We have many of our clients and our web site there. Granted not as much traffic as 6speed but the have not had any issues with any of our sites.
Just a suggestion.

If you are serious about hosting, and do not want to get your own dedicated T1/T3 line, get a collocated dedicated server. This will run you less than $200/month for a great setup. You get complete control over your own server, no bull****.
Gee Dan...................
All I can say is that I have had 12 different client sites on hostway for over 3 years with ZERO issues.
The nice thing about a co-location is the extras you do not have to deal with. For example: Backup power, redundant T1's (a must for up time), Security, Backups (not in the current situation I know), Hardware costs and upgrades, Firewalls (complete with management of said firewall) etc.........
Also keep in mind the hardware costs for your server on their site as well. We had a similar situation several years ago and although it was a nice setup we were responsible if a power supply or HDD took a dump etc. And there was not a 100% gaurentee we could get in at 3:00am if need be to do the repair.
So, yes, I agree you can get a T1 (in most markets) for 200 to 400 a month but you should have two and it would be best to have them from different vendors and a router that can switch traffic on the fly etc.
Not to argue with your issues I just have seen to many of our clients focus on the monthly hard line cost and ignore the "upkeep" that is required. Kind of like the extra upkeep our wounderful cars throw at us
Have a good one! And regardless, Thanks to you guys for even putting a site like this together.
