If mpg is a worry, don't buy either car... Plus... it's not that bad. I get 13 to 14.

I had 2 C2's (2000, and 2002), the TT is another world. Get one. It's worth every penny.

you might just put a supercharger in it first (it'll run you about the sales tax on the TT) and see what you think. it has similar power output than a TT with substantially less weight plus you don't have that AWD. some people love the TT's AWD and others find it not too involving. also, the power delivery on an SC'd 996 is much smoother than the TT (with zero lag unlike the TT).

i'd say TT...
but you have to worry that u'll keep on modifying the car once u got it... hahahahaha... b/c this discussion board is a bad influence...
when i first got my TT, i wasn't even thinking about modifying it at all... then I end up touching every piece within my car, outside my car... and now even the engine...

just gotta watch out ^_^

i would just get a turbo. if you get a c2 and supercharge fine. great performance for the money. also there is a group buy going on (don't know the details). However, horsepower wise, once you supercharge it your done. no more power upgrades. The turbo opens all kinds of doors in the way of performance upgrades. However, deep pockets are required for much of these items. I myself looked at this site at all the past topics as well as rennlist and decided to get an 01 turbo and love it . Good luck with your decision(s). With Porsche, you can't go too far wrong.

If you are worried about you MPG cost, maybe you should look into the difference in insurance. I know I am shopping right now, and being 20, I have a $3000/year difference in insurance quotes in the C4S and the TT. Keep that in mind.

TT is the flagship for a reason. Other 996s are nice but the TT is like no other. I might be biased.
