lighter clutch on 04 turbo cab?

Maybe it's not the fact that it's a 2004 turbo cab but I recently upgraded from a 2002 C4S and I notice that the clutch is significantly lighter on the turbo cab and therefore even easier to drive. Is this something in general with turbos vs. a normal 996 or something new with 2004? Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes, the Turbo cars have a hydraulically boosted clutch that is lighter than the naturally aspirated cars, because the clutch is heavier-duty and would require too much pedal pressure otherwise. I've heard the GT2 does not have as light a clutch. I too was surprised when I traded up to a TT.

also, as the porsche clutch wears, it becomes stiffer. so, you may have had a used 996 clutch vs. a new 996TT clutch as a reference.

My '04 turbo feels faster than the last one (2003). Maybe the factory accidentally put an X50 in there..

It should actually feel slower because the more miles you have on a car, the more it has broken in and trhe faster it is, however there is a limit to this.
