New car opinions, 996tt to AWD sedan?

It's time to buy a new car that can be driven all seasons and carry our family of four. When we bought the 996tt, I told my wife that it has AWD and two rear seats -- just like an SUV (especially with the stock ride height! ). We already have a family SUV, and are looking for a fairly fun car.

I was thinking Audi S4 cabriolet as the only true 4 seat AWD convertible, but it seems a bit heavy and underpowered for its weight. Has anybody driven it who can comment on its peformance? Any other recommendations?

crazy1323 is infamous around these parts
My mom drives an 06 S4 cab every day, I love driving this car as all my cars are coupes. for a cab it has great handling. Also has a good exhaust tone but not too loud. All around a great car and have had not problems what so ever with it. I recomend this car highly for an all season cabriolet

I would look at the Subaru WRX STi. With little modification you can have a 12 second, 1/4 mile car with 4 doors and a trunk. It's very sporty right out of the box, but if you're inclined there are tons of mods for it (turbos, exhaust, injectors, suspension, wheels, etc.). I have been told they are a blast to drive.
