the IBE chipswitch is the way around dealer checks (if any).... In stock mode it is stealth

Yeah. That stock mode doesn't exactly seem stock. I asked Todd something to the effect of "what's up with that?" Then I specifically asked, "about how much power does the car put out in 'stock' mode?"

His reply was "about 450 at the rear wheels". Yeah, stock... right.... Maybe it should be called "over 40 year old valet mode". (Thinking back to that nightmare in Ferris Bueller's Day Off...)

Any way, unless the dealer's a real moron (I know some are), I don't think they'll be fooled if they nail it. On the other hand, should the dealer mechanic really be nailing it in a customer car? That's another story... I don't think I want to know the answer.

Good point Zippy. I guess it all boils down to his preference for warrany ease vs. power. I already decided to go the more difficult route, should anything happen to my motor...
