Question
I would say the newer with warranty M3 would be a great car to start off if you are somewhat even concerned about how to pay for it. When you are more established and have the opportunity to be able to support yourself, then jump into an 04-05 Turbo, or even a 997 Turbo. Just my opinion.
the TT might be to much for a 17 year old.
the m3 as well... I see alot of you kids getting stupid trying to race me....
how about a subaru or a mitsu evo9- that is alot of fun for alot less. then when u grow up and learn how to support yourself.. you will know what to get
good luck,
markski

Pay cash for something, then invest the money your making from the ATM business until your older. Depending on who's name the car is under will make a huge difference for insurance. I'd complile a list of all the cars you like and or what, within reason and call your insurance agent, and get prices if it's under your name and your fathers.
Just be very careful with whatever you get, i was responsible at that age, more so than the average teenager, and for some reason would end up doing something stupid atleast once...
But if your looking for fun cars
Mini Cooper S are a street legal go kart
Nissan 350Z are nice looking with decent performance
What about a BMW 3 series non M?
Just some thoughts from someone who's been there. Best of luck on your search and if you need anything else let me know.

If you can be responsible enough to own your own business, then you can be responsible enough to select your own car. Here's what I would recommend:
1.) Do an assessment of the ATM business you will be 'inheriting'. Figure out at least the basics - revenue, fixed and variable expenses, net income, etc.
2.) Figure out your 4-5 year plan for that business. Will you need to grow it? What kind of return do you need to be able to grow it?
3.) Can the business afford a cash flow drain that your car payments will cause?
I presume you are wanting to keep this business growing and running smoothly so that you'll never have to worry about making enough money down the road. What I'd do is experiment and in your freshman year, get a modest car - a used non M3 BMW 3-series, a 350Z, something that you can sell pretty easily in a year. Budget $15-20k...then give yourself some goals - like getting good grades and also some modest revenue/income growth for your business. What you can do then is to reward yourself as you meet your goals. Just think how much fun it would be to change cars every year, and each car getting better and better. If you don't meet your goals, you have to be accountable to your target and keep your car another year.
Set this goal up with your dad (write it up as a 'contract'). I'll bet he'll be even more impressed about your maturity level. Who knows...you grow this business and you won't be talking about $50-60k cars by your senior year. You may be looking at $200k+ cars if that's what you wanted to do!

get a sti or evo. Cheap to mod and fast. After you start the ATM buiss. i would go for a turbo or m3. But right now, i would go for a fun fast, cheap car and than once u get in to ur ATM buiss, i'd buy a m3 or turbo, but just my $.2.
p.s.- Coming from a 12 year old boy, so yea not that helpfull

Evo 9 is such an amazing car, and great to start out with. Although, i mean if you really want to become a better driver, yes driving school and other things can help you, but what's better then driving a rwd sportscar if you can control yourself and getting your experience up?
I would say go for the M3, such a fun car, not as serious as the turbo and a good car to learn on, E36 M3 is awesome too!
