GT2 Track HP tuning

I am posting for my friend who has a stock GT2 and would like to do a HP package upgrade...

What package would work well for road course use, linear power, that is user friendly with longevity in mind and nothing to nuts.

Any personal experience would help.

Is there a difference between tuners?

most people will do evo stage 4 if he is not planning to go nuts. It will included computer flash, exhaust and header. I believe you're also in Toronto. Our only local evo dealer is Pfaff tuning. My friend have a X50 with stage 3 upgrade, we can meet up if you like to check it out!

It seems that the EVO is at the top of most peoples list.

It is the "Most Popular" (in the US).

There are other fantastic alternatives, do more thorough research
and you will be rewarded.

With a GT2, getting the suspension and the DRIVER dialed in
would be at the top of the list, so unless this guy is beating every
other car at his local track, he should focus on suspension first.

IMHO,

MK

Does your friend have alot of seat time in the GT2 ?? It is a beast to drive for the inexperienced. An ecu re-map and exhaust would be a nice EASY way to start. Getting him way over 500 HP. But I think a good suspension and setup are more key to this car than HP. Gianni at Fiorano Racing is the THE GURU to help your friend out. 416-741-1696.

Good luck.

We have already done the Motons, toe links, shock mounts...with a Fordahl chassis set-up.
He also drives in the local regional races with a Z06... still getting used to the GT2 at speed.

You're in the Seattle area? The only two GT2s I have seen in our area is a black and a silver. Sounds like this is the black GT2 we're talking about. Greg Fordahl did all the suspension works on my GT2 as well. I have just recently done some power upgrades. Let me know if I can help.

vincentdds,

We are in Toronto.

What mods have you done?

Does it make for a smoother delivery of power? or is it more abrupt?

Oh my mistake.
As far as power upgrades. I wanted my car to have powerband that are similar to that of an NA car. I started with EuropipeII which really help spool up the K24 quickly to >08 bar to get out of the corners. After trying out different various programs and I ended up using Kevin UMW programimg and wastegate kit. His program provided a very linear power band that's perfect for road racing.(No sling shot power.) Along with the wastegate kit the boost is sustained above 1.0 bar throughout gears and rpm. You can add race program and 5 bar FPR for extra torque if needed on long straight away tracks. Also intake and DV will help.Call Kevin @ 360-805-9066.

So true! But yea, do a search on various tuners, it will be worth it to see the wealth of knowledge you/your friend will gain!
