Smoked Taillights
Just pop them out and go to a paint shop. Tell them to pt smoke in the clear. This is a coloring in the paint they use in custom jobs often called "candy coats" you can tint the clear any color you want to create a transparent tint. Then have them hit them with 2000 grit, prep and paint the tail lights. Old trick.

PM tessterosa or whatever who has that black gt2 for sale in the classifieds, he has some on his car, maybe you could get some info from him.
