Car amplifier mounting question.

I want to mount my new amp against the vertical wall in the hood, but am worried about screwing into something important. I assume it is the gas tank behind there. Does anyone know how much depth I have before hitting something. Thanks.

I installed a removable amp rack above the spare. I have two amps.

For some reason I cannot post a pic?

I got pix of a rack in a TT. I would not drill into the car. get someone to fabricate up a rack for you that mounts up top.

Jags is on it! What you have to do is construct a blank board (MDF) that sits above the wheel (you can carpet it!) then attach the amps to the MDF Board which can easily be removable etc. Do not drill into anything!

Why not under the Pass seat? Lots of rook under there.

not enough room for most amps. and you have to drill holes into the floor to mount it

Actually I mounted my alpine amp under there. You can tag the two sub strips and tap those. It is above the floor. I was able to tab that and run little brackets for a tidy install.

Gezz, how big of an amp do you need

Hey BruceM, do you have other pics of the first install? My trunk is setup like that, and am interested in those brackets. Thanks.

those are the only ones I have. The install was done by www.signatureaudiousa.com located in Scottsdale. quite a few guys from this board go there.
