Finalizing a 03 996TT purchase...
The car is a 03 996TT with 24K miles, one owner, no accidents, clean car fax and no engine mods. I called the local Porsche dealer he ran the VIN and all came back good. It passed the Maryland state inspection and is going in tomorrow for a Porsche Pre Purchase Inspection. I bought the car for $69,000. They are putting on a new front chin spoiler and one wheel had some scratches, not curb rash, just scratches and they fixed it. The radio turned on, but no sound, so warranty is fixing that. The car comes with 2 sets of keys, valet key and all manuals. It also has a built in front and rear radar detector.
If all goes well with the PPI I will pick it up early next week.
The dealer told me that if the car passes the PPI I could purchase the Porsche CPO warranty. Does anyone know what the extended warranty should go for?
Thanks
ROB

When I spoke with dealers they usually quote the CPO at $3K is that markup if you are buying the car through the dealership?

Thanks guys,
Once I get the car home I will clean it up and take better pics.
I am taking the car to Rockville Porsche in Maryland. I will let you guys know how it turns out today and how much for the CPO warranty. They said to do a PPI is $345.00, but it is the same inspection they do for a CPO car. I know some other dealers are charging $200.00 for a PPI, but no CPO warranty.
That is not my house that is just the photos the guy sent me first.
Thanks again,
ROB

Rob, congrats if you go through with the deal. Porsche CPO warranty runs about $2,200.00, but an 03 is still good for one more year anyway.. Your call though. I wouldn't do it especially if I had any plans for Mods.. just my .02
Check to see how long the original warranty is good for. I bought an 02 and got the cpo, best $$$ I ever spent. Even the little things cost big bucks. Cpo is great if you have a good relationship with your dealer!!! If your dealer is not willing to work with you, it's a toss up.
The car is still at the dealer and it will be done on Monday. The original warranty is up June 25, 2007. I need to speak to the representative of the dealership tomorrow about the warranty prices. So far so good, I will pick the car up on Tuesday and post pics ASAP.
Thanks,
ROB
