Pre-warranty expiration inspection

I just dropped my car off for the 30,000 mile service. My warranty expires in about two weeks. I told them to look it over thoroughly, but does anyone have suggestions for specific items I should make sure they check out? TIA

Hey Fred.. give Brian a call and he can walk you through it I presume it's going there? Check the tranny for stuff... Maybe the coolant expansion tank. Get that replaced?

Actually, it's at Sonnen. That's where I bought it, and they've been pretty good on service. The tranny is almost new; replaced due to the second gear pop-out issue. Expansion tank is a good idea; mine failed on my old C2.

Got ya Fred. Is the tank looking yellow? The 01s and 02s generally die after a while But you have an 03 so it's likely fine. I'd say get any 'rattles' taken care of lol!

Speaking of warranty expiry, what are the terms under which a warranty extension can be purchased from Porsche, and how much do they charge per year on a 996TT ?

In Switzerland, it costs about 1K$ per year to extend the warranty of a 997 Carrera, Porsche accepts renewal until 130Kmiles.

If they're replacing plugs have them pull the rubber spark plug boots off the coils and look for cracks in the coils. Also check that the clutch slave will hold assist pressure if you pump the clutch 10 times after the car sits overnight.
