Has anyone added homelink?
Didn't even realize that this could be done-happen to have an extra door opener so I'm going to give it a shot.
I just checked with the local Porsche dealer in Atlanta, they wanted more than $40 for the part and they couldn't get it until Tuesday. Sunset Imports, $23.09 for the part, $7-8 for shipping. Don't think I'll ever use the local guys again for parts-that kind of markup ticks me off.

help
so you are saying we can use any garage opener and take it apart? Please help I want to do this also. My garage opener is running off of the aaa baterry would i need to purchase a thinner model?
I Think if you put in a fresh battery at install you shouldn't have to worry about it for a long time. I don't remember the last time I had to change the battery in my garage door opener.
Here the fix power on with a genie opener

I don't want to mess with a battery. I actually have changed several. Not in the same remote though

I've had mine working for almost 4yrs now...Battery still going strong. Plus I ran the remote under the Glove box, so if i do need to change out the battery it's really easy to access.
