I wouldn't have banned him from this thread, but his performance in the 2nd thread was worthy of it. It showed his true maturity. "I'm not going to talk **** to you because I'm smarter than you obviously. By the way, you were a loser in HS and beat off to 6speed posts!" Hahaha, that was so amusing...

Regardless, I wish him the best of luck in his business, school, and P-Car experiences.

I'm not too active around here, so I'm not sure how he got his 9 rep points. But those aren't easy to come across. His welcoming to our fellow OP must have ticked off the mods (rightfully so, but I'm sure there's more to it to justify a ban).

 

I totally agree, it seems people cant welcome a new member, younger or older with a serious question and give them a serious answer (without being TOO HONEST)

My advice is, if it makes sense in the position you are in, then do it. If not, put the money away or make it grow whether it being a fund, cd or even investment in a business or legal gambling (stocks)..

Goodluck with your deicison, remember 996TT's will be around, and hopefully not but probably for even cheaper than they are at now unfortunately

I say go for the car if you can afford it. Don't worry what other people will think of you. Its your hard work that got you in the position you are in. Also don't waste your money on other slower Porsches. Go straight for the Turbo, no point to start with a Carrera.

 

I think the bigger picture was his "e-thugging" thread that got closed by Marc. Also, people need to have a thicker "e-skin" and not get completely bent out of shape when they get comments on an internet forum.

 

But lets face it, the response Vicious gave was just way out of line, and wasnt needed or wanted-

Vicious and Ashokn225 are both banned by me for 7 days neither one of them is right and I told them both we are not going to tolerate this stuff around here...next time they are both gone period...

 

I banned him an Vicious for 7 days as a cool down and told them both this type of stuff will not be tolerated the name calling, harrassing and downright verbal abuse its enough and its gotten out of hand.

 

I will be the first to agree that, while I enjoy the abuse of Noobs, particularly when their first post is half-a-page long, we need to make sure it stays in good fun, and doesn't turn mean.

I feel partially repsonsible in that I was egging this on, but it is uncomfortable when it turns so ugly so quickly. We have to remember that this is first and foremost a car forum, and that most of the people attracted to it are sincere, well-intentioned car people.

Lesson learned for me as well.
