Another reason why the stock headers just suck...
I want to dig up all the comments and advice on how everyone should
keep their stock headers for anything up to 600 HP...?
I will make a blanket statement, headers (that flow better than stock headers) would help just about any
mod where you are trying to improve flow thru the "air pump"
Wow, Sharkey
that pic is "priceless" (for you!)
thanks,

Marty, it isn't about just keeping the stock headers...they need to be ported (reamed) and polished. If you do this they are good to 700hp. The length of the stock headers is, to my knowledge, the best out there. You do not want to add length...girth maybe, but not length.

Hope you get what I mean!!!

P.S. Did you port and ceramic coated them or just ported? Did you notice a difference?

Ok. With or Without coating did you feel the difference in spooling or not?
I can't understand why Porsche would even but a header like that on their flagship 911 (sans the GT2).
If the company can make the rest of the engine - calculations, manufacturing, metal tolerances, etc... Why would they cheap out on the headers?
Encourage aftermarket support??
To detune their engines?? But simply lowering the boost from the factory could do this.
Just confused, because it doesn't seem like a proper set of headers would be hard for them to make.
