Another data point...

I had my TT GIAC chipped, fitted Milltek exhaust (with 100 cell cats), new headers, replaced the DV's etc - all usual stuff but no V-Flow airbox. The MAF failed within 100 miles of these mods while at WOT. Coincidence ? I don't think so. Changed out the MAF and now 7000 miles later still as good as new - actually better :-)

Moral - MAF can fail even at a moderate state of tune and without the V-Flow being part of the equation. Maybe the V-flow just aggrevates an underlying weakness ?

I feel for you guys with the maf problems.I have had three EVOMS kits in my car(gt640,gt700,gt800r)since 2004(all w/v-flow oiled and dry filter)and have yet to blow a maf.Am I just lucky or is this something car specific?EVOMS now has a waffle like insert in the airstream that they are trying out, but why hasn't my car ever blown one?I can understand how this can become very tiresome.

That's what I thought too, then the next week it blew. I think the key is not thinking about it and it will go away....

The MAF should blow, no matter what box is in the car, with a pair of GT28's sucking air past it - shouldn't it???
Mike,

I have never seen the V box first hand. I have seen pics.

I would venture to say this ............. Remember the law of the weak link. Well with these motors it is the restriction instead of weak link. It is my guess the V tech allows for better flow. Once installed something else becomes the restriction. This is probably where the problem lies. I do know the stock MAF is rated for 485 hp. In addition Porsche seems to a 30% or so safety factor built into their products.

I'm pretty sure the new hardware would require new software.
