And they are alot more efficient when you order then with the optional coating they now offer.

I would love to see a chipped car stage 1 running factory inter coolers vs same car same dyno running upgrade IC's.

Hmm. I would be satisfied with intake temperature comparison.

I have been advised by a member who's knowledge I trust that I should upgrade my IC's. However, my money is a bit tight right now (just bought the car, a house, furniture, etc.). My question is, how much better are the GT2 IC's over the TT's, and how much better are the Evo's over stock GT2's?

Now this is exactly what I was thinking since my x50 IC's are the same as GT2 IC's.

CPU,

If your car is a stock X50 it is my understanding that you should be fine w/ the GT2 IC's.

GT2 intercoolers are not that great. Only slight improvement over stock. Most "chipped" cars run more boost than the factory Gt2 does. More boost=more heat. More heat= more detonation potential.

The EVOMS IC's should be high on the must have list if you run pump fuel. Lower intake temps will protect the car from detonation which is the real enemy of a turbo car.

IMHO it should be included in any chip upgrade.

All the ic's really do is allow you to keep your power for longer before giving in to heat soak. Ah as for detonation wouldn't just keep pulling timing for a simple stage 1?

Emailed them today to make a comparison to the EVOMS Club Sport Intercoolers and got this response back.

"Thanks for your interest in our intercoolers.

Our 996TT intercoolers uses a 3.4" thick bar and plate core vs. your Porsche
stock 2.5" tube and fin core; the intercoolers offered by EVO also uses the
same style bar and plate cores with similar dimensions as that it is the
biggest we can fit to make this a bolt-on application. The one major
difference between our units and EVO's is that our Intercoolers have
provisions which allows you to use your existing factory hoses (detailed
pics attached); whereas I believe with EVO's kit you will also need to
purchase a set of hoses from them for approx. USD900 in order to complete
your installation.

Our 996TT Intercooler kit retails for USD1885 plus USD65 for UPS Ground
Shipping Service, and installation time will be approx. 2.5 hours.

We have installed this kit on one of our customer's 630wrhp car which
belongs to Canadian race car driver Ludwig Heimrath with great results."

These IC's sound like a great deal and I am going to purchase them. They have the same cores as the EVO's and, as explained, don't require purchasing the hose kit.

Michael sent me some close up pics.

They look very well made and will flow/ cool efficiently.
