Introduction and TT perspective buyer

First off, I have to say there is lots of good information being shared here between you all - very nice group indeed! I have a question that I have not been able to resolve in my mind or through the search function and I am looking for some help.

I will probably be purchasing a tip as my wife will want to drive this car as well, and I am wondering if the computer will keep a tip car from having a type 2 overrev?

Is this something I need to be concerned with or is it a non-issue with a tip?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Aloha and welcome to 6 speed. The answer is yes at least thats what I was told when I asked this questions. I can't remember why but oh well someone will likely post a better explanation than me. You can search under dsg. I posted a thread about that and someone (more knowledgeable than me)gave some good answers.Sorry I live on a deserted island and rarely speak with people except for here so if I am wrong send help.

Aloha

Byron

P.S. Please post pics.

Rich im almost 100% certain it wont ever be an issue. The ECU wont let the car downshift if it does not feel its safe for the car, several times i tried in my friends turbo where i felt it was normal and it still wouldnt, weird!

Anyway welcome to 6speed and and goodluck with your purchase

a type two over rev is a mechanical "forced" over rev that the computer cant protect you from, it is not possible with an automatic unless you take it out of gear into neutral over rev and jam it back into gear

This could actually happen if you let your wife drive the car!!

Welcome to 6speed!!
