Warning, Possible Bad Combination

pictures are worth a thousand words so here is the hose with car on ground doesnt seem like a real problem and why I mention it.

here is hose about same position but turned around so you can see the hole

and the close up!!

I like the small spacer idea and tying the hose, back but for now going back to OEM
Thanks for all the great info and insight and ideas!!!! tom

You can't blame the hose here. You are running bigger wheels. Aside from that the factory hoses are a 2 ply piece of junk. They left me on the side of the road twice. They fall apart without anything rubbing. You will also eventually have issues with the factory hose even if it is smaller. The EVO hoses are 8 ply. They withstand over 30PSI sustained pressure. If you want hoses that are strong they have to be bigger due to construction.
FWIW I use to track my TT and ran 12s and Toyo 335s in the rear and have never suffered a hose failure. Clearly the liners had to be removed but that was it. Now, I did rip the flywheel off
Lasly, look at the 997TT hoses and the improvements they made with that design. You will see the factory 996TT are not even in the same league

My move back to OEM was cause I could get it before the next event and also you can buy one for $100 instead of EVO not breaking a "set" up and having to pay $1000 just to get one hose.
thanks for your input, tom
Yes, that is what I am saying. The same car I did this with is still on the same hoses that were on it almost 60K miles ago! They were not kind miles either. What I can tell you is the ONLY time I have had an issue is with the inner liner and that is an issue with or without the hose depending on the offset of the wheel. I also have had issues with the front liners and too big of wheel/tire. I am not saying it is not close, because it sure is but you shouldn't have issues.
Now, if you had a weak bushing or somthing out of kilter then all bets are off.
FWIW the hoses are 695.00 not 1000.00.
