Fabspeed exhaust
Scott, Honestly... Yes. I started with the Super Sport since the stock unit is too quiet. It didn't take long until the drone really got to me and I located the Sport version used. I like this a lot better although at cruise speed (60) there is still a resonance.
I love the Fabspeed though and considered ordering the new version that is out. There is one of these for sale in the parts for sale you could jump on?
This winter I had a set of cones welded in my sport, but it is below zero here - so I will wait until spring to find out if that quieted it down any.
If you can afford around $1600 for a used sport they come up fairly often. I think the group buy on the new style was around $3000 somewheres. You can email PorschePhd for a quote.
Good luck, hope it helped.

I run straight pipes so cant comment on post but I will ask/add this...
I dont get this "drone" thing? I mean at 2-3k with a 500hp engine behind you you are by the laws of physics air flow and harmonics going to get "sound" call it what you want but it is unavoidable in any high flow louder than stock exhaust.
It is managable by throttle but that is about it. I dont care what "exhaust" you use, if it is high performance with race cats come to terms with the exhaust note and enjoy it! my 2 cents. tom

An increase in db and at what frequency makes the difference. The older versions were terrible. Even for me. Some love it, some hate it.
The new version while increased in db, has not increased more than a few dbs, at or around 60-80 Hz. This where the "oh my gawd my ears are going to explode" happen. Yes, the over all there is a volume increase, but no there is not the "drone" as we have come to expect from Fabspeed.

I just got my Fabspeed from Stephen at Imagine Auto. It is the new style with twin mufflers. First, the sound is terrific and not "droney". For the last week, I haven't turned on the CD or radio....I just listen to the exhaust :-) I did also install the Fabspeed airbox upgrade at the same time also.
Second, Stephen was terrific to deal with. I got a great price, great service and Imagine Auto is a pleasure to do business with. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Don't get the old version... The car had fabspeeds when I got them... Damn.. Too much drone... Can't even hear the radio that well...
Wifey actually told me to "Please change your exhaust.. It's annoying..."

I have the old supersport I bought used. Its loud in a good way, and the drone hasn't gotten to me yet (don't think it will). There is a bit of resonance in the cabin when you start it cold though, but it quiets down once its warm. I personally love the exhaust, but I can see why this would be too loud for most.

I've had the droney Supersport for 3 1/2 years and I love it! It was the best mod I ever did to my TT. It rumbles at low r's, and screams at high r's. I drove it from FL to DC and it didnt bother me at all.
It's all about what YOU like. Don't go by soundclips on the web. You'll need to ride in a car with whatever exhuast you choose to know what it really sounds like.
Demon: I'll let you drive mine at the next meet if you want to hear the old version.
