Holy 1980's interior. I think the the Nav and HVAC need a few more buttons.

So when did Porsche hire Bangle to do the 997? The interior reminds me of a Mercedes A class and the round headlights just DON´T belong on a 996 successor. Yes, they looked good on the 993 and they still do. However, they look weird on a 996 and I am pretty convinced that my first 911 is going to be a 996, instead of the new and "improved" 997. Too bad Porsche couldn´t decide what they wanted. A 993 or a 996 lookalike? Not sure its either, really, because at the present moment it just looks like a VW Beetle with a 996 rear welded on it.

20C4S Cayenne-ish, VERY much so. A couple of on this thread in the 996 forum agree with you... I actually love the 996 interior. It is different then most cars. The new interior in the pics looks... well like the rest of the crap Japan is making... I hope it "grows" on us...

I'll buy that. First off the number of buttons on the Nav/Radio/HVAC looks like a Pontiac. The aluminum trim is way overdone. Too much on the steering wheel/dash/guages. I do like the 993-ish shifter and boot. As for exterior, jurys still out. I like the headlights. This is only my opinion, and we all got 'em.

The interior reminds me a little of those in the Mercedes SLK/Chrysler Crossfire.

Hey - I hated the 996 when it first came out and now I like it so I have a strange feeling i will like this car as well -

One major positive for me is that I am a huge fan of the 993 styling over the 996 so seeing the flared fenders and round headlights is a positive for me so far

I'm glad I don't particulally like it. It's not terrible, just not better and in my opinion, a little worse.

I had similar sentiments, I feel this one will grow on us and the turbo version will seal the deal

That interior sure has a lot of fake "aluminum-look " plastic . That same stuff on the steering wheel hub reminds me of what GM does on their Buick or Cadillac " concept" cars .
