BBS ... retires ?

fair enough..i don't see why they didn't adjust the price of their rims accordingly. VOLK in japan is announcing a price increase and i'm sure others have compensated internally or with a consumer end price adjustment, so why not BBS?
they were already expensive rims..another 100-200 bucks a set and they could probably still move units..especially for their motorsport division.
besides, they supplied quite a few oems..up the price there about 10-20 bucks a set..it can't be that hard to burry a 10 dollar increase in msrp.
is there something i'm missing here (probably a lot..but i'm sure u guys understand what i'm saying....sounds like poor management in my humble opinion).

Some Facts about BBS (from BBS)
The wheel business is much different today than even 5 years ago. There have been several European wheel manufacturers that have filed Chapter 13 and were liquidated, finished. As some people have stated on various forumsthat most people are not looking for quality, the U.S. market is more about big and shiny. This is not an "Apples to Apples" business. In the U.S. there are not ANY enforced standards for aftermarket wheels... anyone can be in the wheel business. BBS only produces product in one manner and it is done the right way. It takes time and money to properly design, engineer and test new products. Companies that are only in for the quick dollar typically do not have the resources or experience
BBS in Germany filed for Chapter 11 and we have already begun the restructuring process there. BBS is still producing wheels in Germany and plan to keep doing so. There is a partner company to BBS in Japan called "Washi Beam", they produce forged wheels for Subaru, Mitsubishi, Aston Martin, Bentley, Lexus, Mazda and a few others. They also produce the forgings used to produce F1, Indy, ALMS and racing wheels for many other race programs around the world. Washi Beam is 100% independent of BBS Germany and they are not caught in ANY bank or financial related issues. BBS Germany and Washi Beam started working together back in 1983... Remember the orginal 3 piece RS wheel? Washi Beam produced all of the die-forged wheel centers for these wheels.
BBS Germany will continue with the restructuring process and Washi Beam will continue to make the highest level die-forged wheels in the world. BBS of America will be here to service customers in North America.

This is the original thread, and the only one I am going to be posting updates to, which are still coming in. I won't delete this one because it has some good info in it, but it's the fourth one that's been started on this topic. Use the search function. Thanks.

Losing Kenisis was really bad, but I thought we had BBS to fall back on. Now what, its off to Pep Boys for the 22" $99 specials with the adaptor plates to fit any car ever produced. Don't forget the chain link steering wheel and light up bass boom box.
