A little help with these issues on my 01 TT

Hey guys,
I've had my car for 2 months and my mods are GIAC, fabspeed supersport and k&N panel (DV's are going on as soon as they arrive). Anyway Ive been having a few issues with my car...maybe you guys can shove me in the right direction as to how to fix these small things:

1- Im a little confused why PSM and ABS fails after a hard pull in 1st-2nd. Ive been reading other threads on this but Im still a little in the dark on this. Its happend about 5 times or so.

2- In gears 4-6th Im hitting 1.3-1.4 bar which I think is partially be due to the colder temps we have been having (-15C). As a result of course my car restricts boost to .5 bar. Is it just the colder weather that is the cause of the overboost or is there something else at play here? If so what are my options to correct this?

Boost behaves normally when the car is in stock mode btw. For right now the car is in stock mode until we have a warmer day (-5) and I can go try to see where my boost peaks. Anyway guys, all suggestions and comments are more than welcome. Thanks in advance!

Dan

Not a pro, but I have been there and done that:

1. think you have a boost leak or failing MAF

2. since you are boosting so high, the car is going into limp mode. My wastegate hose was disconnected somehow and causing me to boost 1.4 then TB shutdown (limp mode.)

Thanks guys,
I remember reading that it could be a failing MAF, and I just called my dealer and they confirmed that as well. I have an appt on monday to get it checked. But since my car was just in to get an IC hose reconnected, he said that they would have checked the wastegate hoses as well, so Im not sure if they are causing my boost problem in that case.

What is the most boost people with a similar setup to me are seeing in freezing temps?

^ Yes K16s...It usually sees .9-1.0 bar in 1st, 2nd 3rd with the GIAC software. Today I saw .9 in third on the highway which is normal, then into 4th I saw 1.3 and backed off. 5th and 6th the same thing; I hit the gas and I see 1.3-1.4 bar very quickly. Thanks for the responses so far guys.

You need to check what it sees in 4th or so under full boost after it settles down...the peaks are just that.... peaks.

Im just nervous to pop an IC hose off again testing this. It happend 4 days ago on the highway (I was checking my boost in all gears from 2nd up). When i did a 4th grear pull to redline I saw 1.2 bar, then as soon as i saw 1.4 the IC hose came off. I sure it cant be too safe hitting these boost levels on occasion.

I second M3CAB, could even be the timing valve for boost pressure control.

You can modify your IC hose so it never comes off, I have.

Good luck

I would consider going to the EVO high pressure silicone boost hoses. Handle higher pressures, no seam to explode, and connections are better. Prices have also recently come down.

If your problem is not that your hose explode but only disconnected by higher boost...You can modify your IC hose connections by making a mark 1-2 mm deeper, then the connection ring for the hose will come deeper down and the IC hose doesnt come off that easy and you save 695...

Sorry for my bad spelling...I hope you understand what i mean.

Here you have a link for the WG, MAF and boost pressure control etc:
https://techinfo.porsche.com/techinf...001_911gt2.pdf

See 2-9 to 2-10. I hope this helps if you can do it, otherwise buy EVO and leave the car to a dealer.
