A/C compressor ECU control

Do any of the ECU gurus know the conditions that turn off the A/C compressor? I assume that it turns off at very high RPM and if the coolant overheats. Does it turn off under full throttle at low - mid RPM? Do I need to manually turn it off for maximum acceleration?
