Octane and ECU tuning....

Sorry to post this here guys, but I know I will get the experienced answer I need. OK so its not a P-car but it is a TT

I checked my VIN and my CL600 is a "California" car, as well I am almost positive my ECU tune was for 91 octane as it came from South Dakota. In its current tune its making 492/572 at the wheels but Im in MD where we have 93 at every pump. My question is this...should I get my ECU retuned for 93 octane to squeeze that last bit of HP out of it, wouldnt that be optimal? thanks guys.

You can always just use the extra octane as insurance. Whenever I have had a race file , I like it to be tuned a bit lower than the actual fuel rating I am using to take into consideration fuel quality issues. I run a 100 octane file on 104 at the track just to be safe. You will get better performance numbers with a few extra octane , but I choose not to push the envelope for safety sake. Kevin
