GT3 seat height?

Hey guys,

I'm now tossing around the idea of swapping out my OEM leather/power/heated seats for some OEM GT3 seats. My only issue is that while I'm average height at 5'10", I'm all legs so I sit relatively low in a car.

My question is; are the GT3 seats lower than the OEM TT seats, and if so...how much? Thanks.

Dive, they do sit a little lower than the stockers. Not sure exactly how much. Im 6.0", and leg room is never a problem. If I put the seat all the way back, I can barely reach the pedals.

I think they sit 1" to, at most, 2" lower with the standard mounts that come with the seats. I understand that Brey Krause makes an assembly that places them lower with a little bit of a rearward incline.

Scott I am 5'11'' and the GT3 seats are several inches lower. But plenty of room and very comfortable!!! One of the best things ever!!
Plus lower center of gravity!!

6'3" and they work for me....Brey-Krause does make a fixed floor mount that lowers them even more. So much for sticking with the old "heavies" . Kevin

Oops...sorry guys, I think my first post was a bit confusing.

What I meant was; since my legs are long for my height, my body is relatively short, so I tend to sit too low in most cars. Low enough that I prefer to raise seats when I can.

So the fact that the GT3 seats are even lower than the OEM makes me worry that they might be too low for me.

Kevin...I know, I know...

I felt much lower at first but then realized it was the way it was supposed to be.

These seats have a very upright postion that actuakky straight out your spine and allow your head to be at the same level as the OEM seats. Plus there are all kinds of cushion you can use to get you comfortable. No worry bud.

Scott im 6"2 and no issues at all, they do sit lower then factory seats, and there are also brackets to make it even lower!

Edit: Oops didnt realize your issue, you should have a problem with that either Scott!

The 996 brackets should be fine. On the 993, we have to buy special Brey Krause brackets to make them fit lower. In case the seat is too low, you can buy from Automotion a "seat elevation kit" and you will be set.

I have my passenger side GT3 seat sitting next to my old stock driver's seat (with the back of the seat bottom at its lowest setting) and they look just about equal in height?

I used to like sitting high in the 911, but I forced myself to get used to sitting lower to prepare myself for the GT3 seats. Now I wouldn't want it any other way.

If you floor the stock seats then you will need the brey krause brackets. If you keep the stock seats higher up (like you do I think) your fine! GL
