But an '05 GT2 is EXACTLY the same as an '04 GT2, so why would it be worth any more is beyond me................

were those wheels originally made for gt2's or are they take-offs from gt3's?

Hard to say. Those wheels came out 2004 for both the MK2 GT2 and MK1GT3.

If someone wants the last year 996 GT2 and is 1 of 5 made, it would definitely fetch more money.

I agree that it is probably worth somewhere in the 160 range considering the limited numbers in '05.

I just looked at the pictures and the license plate is "one of 7." So maybe there were SEVEN and not FIVE made?

The five I was referring too were made in North America. It looks like seven were made from the factory. Either way, we're splitting hairs here. 1 of 7 worldwide or 1 of 5 in NA makes that car a collectible and should demand more coin.

The press release is how many were SOLD not how many were made. Often a car will sell 1 or 2 years later (ie, a 2005 may have sold in CY 2006). AFAIK, 7 were made (from PCNA here in Atlanta).
