Exclamation HELP...Car died.....Need advise

I have a 03 TT Tip with 25K miles. It has been running perfect, until today. I haven't driven it for about 2 months. This is the first time I am driving the car since I put on the Bailey DV's. I drove about 4 miles and I noticed that the car was hesitating. I pulled over and then she died. It would start and idle, but as soon as I put it in drive or take the RPM's up over 2K, it would die. After I towed it home, it would start and idle for about 2 seconds and then die. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS.

Does this sound like bad gas or the fuel filter?

If a vacuum hose was off would this make a check engine light come on?

PLEASE help with and suggestions!!!!

THANKS!!

You blew a hose. When the car trys to make boost it just shuts off. no CEL says it all. Chek your intercooler hoses . GL

Since I have not driven it for about 2 months I let it warm up and drove normal. NEVER got on it once.

I just went outside, and now it will start, but then die 1 second later. Before it would idle, but not go over 2K and then die. It seems to have gotten worse. I think it is bad gas or maybe the plugs.

I will go check the intercooler hoses now.

THANKS!!!!

UPDATE: ***I just checked the intercooler hoses, both of them seem fine....

I had a similar problem...Drove for the first time in 2 months...it was running great. Put gas in (100 octane) and on the way home it just stalled. At first it would start for 1 second and die...then it just did nothing....towed it home. I think its bad gas also...so now what?

Where in MD are you?

Long shot...but do you think maybe the car is not registering the key and stalling. Maybe try the valet or spare.

It wouldn't start in that case..

Try disconnecting the wire that goes to the MAF. If it runs then it's the MAF.

I live just outside of Bel Air, MD in Street. I just tried different keys and still no luck.

Before it would idle for about 1 or 2 minutes before stalling. Now after about 40 tries it will start, but then shut down 1 sec. later. I am wondering if it is the fuel and the more it takes in the worse it gets.

HOW IN THE WORLD AM I GOING TO GET THE GAS OUT OF THE CAR?

Thanks for all of your suggestions.

Anything esle would be appreciated!!!!

ROB

UPDATE: I disconnected the MAF wire and it still stalled after about 2 seconds...

The MAF would not cause these symptoms. I think it is either bad gas (which means draining the tank) or a bad fuel pump (I am on my second one).

Maybe you need to take the plugs out, change the fuel filter and let the fuel pump empty the tank for you (connect power to it). Run it for some sec without the plugs before you put new fuel and start her up again.

Here where i live we buy in the gas shop some special water remover for gas that we put in the tank.

Good luck

If CEL it would be a hose for sure, I blown hose out of Intercoolers 3 times or so and had to limp home, I had to be careful each time I applied gas, too much and it would just cut out (there must be a big difference to a small leak and a hose off!) It also stalled a lot at lights etc.

Hey we are going to have to get together after the weather breaks...

I have a lift in my garage and just pulled it up there with my 4 wheeler. I looked under the car, all hoses look good and the DV's look good. I guess I am going to have to let her go to the dealer. It is still under factory warranty so I hope it is just the fuel pump.

I really think it is fuel related because it seems to have gotten worse since I have been trying to start it up. PLUS when I would press on the acclerator it would first go upto 4K RPM, then 3K, 2K and now no idle.

Any more suggestions would be appreciated before I take it in on Monday....

THANKS AGAIN for all of your responses!!!!!!!!!!

ROB
