Brakes

First off what would you have if money weren’t a factor.

What are your opinions of the ceramics, do you think they are worth it? What type of driving do you mainly do ( street, track, Mix%)? What mileage are you getting out of pads and rotors?

I’m just trying to justify if it would be a better idea to convert a standard setup to The ceramics, or to just call up AP racing and find the appropriate carbon parts. Yes for a track car, so no practicality issues with a carbon.

docjackson1 is infamous around these parts
the "if money weren't a factor " question is ridiculous-i have a 997tt, and do not have ceramics, but if they gave them to me for free, of course i would take them. i would also take alot of other options if money weren't a factor, but since it is for me and most people, i purchased a car for $126,700 msrp. the $8000 for ceramics is money that i would rather spend elsewhere. hence, i think that your question has little relavence to it.

The performance of the brakes is the big question here. On the track 8K for something that will make a huge difference is a very small price to pay. Under braking is where most of the action takes place. There is little thought put into the stopping power of a car. Most people think engine performance and power is the most import upgrade to address in a factory car. Going fast is fun but stopping from those high speeds, repeatedly is something that we often take for granted. The street is a very different place then the track, and normally you can’t have brakes that do both well. The PCCB are some of the first to try to address this. I know some other exotics have factory carbon, but I don’t own any and they cost a lot more. A ceramic brake that is said to be very low on fade and wear slower is something I consider very desirable.
