Good clean fun!
I have not heard of people doing only ECU very often.
It sounds like when he is done he should be able to handle the 997TT.
Cool vid though, always fun to watch.

Interesting. I never would've thought my 185 lbs would make that much of a difference at speed. Gives us a valid excuse to try it again.

Basic Newton's equation for force and acceleration F=MA, with the same force if mass goes up acceleration goes down. So if the weight is 5% greater (185#) the acceleration will take 5% longer. If 60-130 takes 10+ seconds, that's easily 0.5 second longer.

How much does a Protomotive ECU get?
I'm guessing an Evoms Stage 2 996 would be about even with a stock 997TT.
Just throw on an ecu and exhaust.....

Yes, street racers are big on passenger weights. If one car only pulls to 1-2 car lengths ahead and has no passenger that is pretty much even with neiother car having passenger or both cars. My car lost 3 mph in the 1/4 mile with a 185 lb passenger. 3 mph is big up top for example the SRT 10 viper traps 122-124 and the Zo6 125-127 (ideally) on the highway you get this same result they have the same Hp and the viper is approximately 250 (vert) -280 (coupe) more lbs than the Z06 but has 55 more lbs of torque to keep the margin closer but the Z keeps pulling up top where torque is less of a factor.
