We weigh every wheel we sell at Wheel Enhancement. The Work VSXX for Porsche 996 or 997 in 8.5x19 weighs 29 pounds 4 ounces and 11x19 weighs 31 pounds 11 ounces. Although they are not in the ultra lightweight category they are very high quality wheels. We do sell quite a few of these wheels and our customers have been very satisfied with the results. Wheel Enhancement keeps these wheels in stock in black or silver.

 

The installer remarked to me that he was impressed with their quality and how they were perfectly round and balanced. And it wasn't some kid at Discount Tire...he builds track cars.

 

I disagree with you on the weights completely.

 

The only wheels that are in the weight category that you are quoting are forged wheels. you would have to look to Champion Motorsport wheels, HRE Competition wheels, BBS Race wheels and the like to see anything in the sub 20 pound class. I am not putting down the wheel, just stating facts. We sell the Work wheels on a very regular basis and would not do so if it were not an excellent product.

 

I never said the 19" package was sub 20 lbs, and neither are HRE for that matter unless you have the 18" package, but the rears still exceed 20lbs. Yes the product is excellent. To my knowledge the 3 piece Porsche wheel is Forged. Machined centers just like HRE, IForged, Kinesis, and then aluminum hoops. speaking from PERSONAL experience
the work VSXX wheels are one of the best wheels on the market today. They are (in my opinion) one of the best wheel manufactorors in the world...

they are extremely strong, and the rim is actually round.. i know it sounds wierd, but many rolled lip wheels are not truley round, and is a pain in the butt to balance.. i will prob put work wheels or BBS LMs on my GT2 next year

Just to clear things up the WORK WHEELS are very strong but they have cast centers not forged. The weights are 26lbs 19x8.5 front and 28lbs 19x11 rear.

They are a great street wheel and take pot holes alot better than most but there strength is also why they are a little heavy.

if weight is the main concern then these are not the rims to buy, but for overall build quality, worksmanship and weight relative to what it is you are getting, it is one of the best selections out there.

Mine are the 20's and I don't care for the extra Lbs because they are 20's. For show not all go
