europipe stage 11 loud and FVD sport

I had the europipe stage 11 loud on my 01 turbo and the resonance was horrible between 2200- 2800. FVD sport had less resonance than Euro but was still lousy. I returned both systems and got full refunds. I am currently waiting for a Supersprint system that will be available from BMP in about 4 weeks. Price may be about 2,500.

Hmm that's 2 people saying they have resonance with the europipe. Guess it's one of those things where you really need to hear it for yourself before purchasing. Anyone in DFW area want to let me hear your exhaust? LOL

I'm telling you, the resonance is bad. I would guess that at least half the people who say the resonance isn't bad with the EP used to have the Fabspeed. The EP loud has bad resonance and for all that resonance, you get an exhaust that sounds barely louder than stock on te outside of the car at every RPM except WOT where it sounds really nice. Cold STart sounds good too, other than that, stock sounding outside, loud and annoying inside. The Carg sounds great outside with no much resonance inside. If you are looking at this strictly from a performance point, do not get an exhaust, not that cost affective. Don't get an exhaust, simply get an upsolute chip $500 and you will get to 485-490 hp.

I looked at upsolute but I'm concerned that my local upsolute dealer seems to specialize in VWs ... not one mention of Porsche on their website. Hmm...

Post a thread, maybe you'll have to drive a little, but, better to use someone who has experience with Porsche's. I'll bet there is someone with a 3 hour drive that has the experience necesssary to do the install. It will take a little more time, but, in the end you save $3000 and get slightly better performance.

At one time I had the Europipe Stage II Quiet. I did not notice any resonance.

Are you saying that in your opinion the Upsolute gives slightly better performance than the GIAC?

StephenTI's car made slightly more power than mine and shankgt2 recently told me his car felt a little stronger? Nothing to take away from the GIAC, I am very happy and my car is significantly faster than stock, but, so is Stephenti's upsolute and it only costs $500. If I were only going to 500hp, I would get the upsolute, simply because it has the same or slightly better performance yet costs only $500.

I just got the EP II Quiet. There is muffler noise between 2400-2800 rpm. I would not call it resonance. To me resonance is when the whole interior vibrates to the sound of the engine. The B&B did this. The sound is nice but it is not really loud about twice as loud as the stock muffler. I love the EP but it is way too expensive. THe turbos are more responsive. I did not get the loud because I could not hear one first so I was willing to take a chance on the Quiet version. Would I do it again yes.

Every exhaust will produce some resonance, it is a function of the small interior size and air tight environment. How much is a function of how loud the exhaust is and how coupled the exhaust is to the car. Porsche has made the TT so quiet that there is no discernable resonance but it is there. I use the FVD quiet and it is pretty good, but there is some resonance. Anyone that tells you their exhaust has no resonance either has a really quiet exhaust or doesn't know what they are talking about.

The other consideration should be appearence. I hate the way the exhaust hangs down below the rear and it surely affects the aerodynamics of the car. This is where the EP really shines. If I had to do it again, I would get the EP quiet.

Here is a link to my exhaust that as you assess must be really quiet:

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...argraphic+lsm. The EP weighs as much as stock, Cargraphic weighs 24 lbs. Cargraphic and Gemballa both use the Cargraphic exhaust on their race teams, must not affect the aerodynamics of the car too badly!! EP run by any race teams?? As far as resonance, I stand corrected, it has some resonance, however, no where near the resonance with the EP loud. Confirmed by the guy I sold my EP loud to. By far the worst thing about the EP loud, goes against all your assessments that loud outside = loud inside, because my exhaust is far louder/better sounding/more agressive at all RPM ranges outside the car and far quieter inside. I am not an EP hater, I had the exhaust on my car for two weeks and drove the car daily, that is how it was period. Maybe I had a flawed exhaust, who knows, I am simply telling of my personal experience. I also have driven in, behind, on the side, of a Fabspeed Quiet equipped car many many times. I commented on the three exhausts I have extensive experience with. So believe what you want, your assessments are obviously are much more qualified

Actually Europipe supplies many race teams with exhaust systems. I must admit though your exhaust does sound sweet. Happen to have any others with the car in motion?
