Todd @ evolution motorsports says they are about to come out with a 6 piston 14" rotor set up that is maximized in size for an 18" wheel. The backs would not be changed at 12 1/2" rotors for 996 TT. A lot of us are running 18" wheels on the track and want the biggest brakes we can fit. Rumor says they may offer this as a group buy with either red calipers in "PORSCHE" or yellow calipers (but if you have the red rears, you might not want yellow in the front.) Pricing could be less than $3900 for this front upgrade? I am so in. Look for Todd to reveal this soon. couldn't wait to spill the beans.

 

Can I reply to my own post? Yes, if it is really good. So here goes. How about this option: a one inch larger rotor, floating on an aluminum center designed specifically for 18" 996TT wheels in the front and still use standard pads and the existing calipers. The idea is still heat dissipation (see thread re brake pads.) This system has the bugs worked out and is an easy install. The calipers stay the same and are moved with an adaptor and longer bolts.
