replace auto dim rear view mirror - How!!!

I have been really careless, I was gently trying to remove the rear view mirror at the ball joint and it broke around the socket - I am now left with my auto dimming rear view mirror dangling by the cable.

Is it an easy job to replace? and does anyone know how to do it?

That will teach me to try and fit the tequipment cage on my own!!

I just replaced mine. Its very easy. You want to pry apart the plastic housing where the little led light is in. After that, you simply slide the mirror down from the glass anchor, and disconnect the electrical plug. Connect new mirror to plug and slide the new mirror back on. Reattach the plastic pieces and you are done. 10-15 minute job at most.

I should note that when i was removing my old mirror (with the broken ball joint), I thought I needed to pry the clamps off from either side of the glass anchor. This worked to take it off, but you definately want to slide to put the new one on.

BTW, the dumb**** that washes cars in my building broke my mirror. I'm still fighting with them to pay for it.

Adding auto dimming mirror

Is it possible (and reasonable) to add the auto dimming mirror if it wasnt installed as an option?
