Btw...is there anyone else with issues shifting into first from a dead stop...id say this happens about 40% of the time when im at a complete stop. If I downshift to 1st right before stopping, it's never a problem. I've heard this is common for our cars?

This is my 6th Porsche and every one was a mother to get into first gear. Pulling it into 2nd seems to help. I just don't shove it into 1st while the car is still moving. I'm too concerned about damaging the synchros.

Maybe it's just me but I *never* shift into 1st if the car is moving ... ok maybe 1 or 2 mph but that's it.

I would never shove the gear into first. If it doesnt go into first, I just wait patiently until it goes in smoothly....of course that may be after everyone behind me is honking and yelling!
