Upgrade prices for Stage 1-4

Hi. I wanna upgrade my turbo 996. Want to know what's a decent price for a stage 1 -4 upgrade? A dealer quoted me $2000 for a stage 1 and diverter valve upgrade. Is this a good deal?

Thanks.

it depends on which turner for the upgrades. $2K is pretty good for EVOMS stage 1 with DV, but not a good deal for upsolute. Ask your dealer about which turner do they use.

My understanding is GIAC and Protomotive are around 2K and Upsolute is around 700.

I have to agree with Wross99TT. You should do your homework on the different tuners out there and I mean "REALLY" do you homework. I know a few buddys of mine that have gone 180 from their original set up and it costs an arm and a leg....and then some.

I might go with Speed Gallery in Hollywood for the upgrade. Do you think Lucent motor is better than Speed Gallery?

Please advice.

Better is a relative term.... Liek someone said .. you need to do ur homework.
BTW, a lot of pricing info given above is wrong. You see, some tuners start taking ur money at lets say $2 a crack... but by the time ur done upgrading with stages u end up paying at least twice that just for ecu upgrades.
Some tuners, liek protomotive, take ur money once and do the ecu upgrades for a minimal price of $365.
If you want to know more you can PM and I will tell you the scoop on the protomotive stuff. As far as other tuners go.. I am not in any postion to discuss that. Do your homework...

Both Speed Gallery and Lucent are fine shops that do quality work. Speed Gallery offers its own proprietary packages, as well as selling/installing packages from EVOMS and other tuners. I don't think Lucent offers its own packages, but they do install packages from other tuners. You cannot go wrong with either shop.

As to the differences between Protomotive and GIAC tunes, I think they are probably pretty similar at the lower stages (e.g., tune and exhaust). However, when you start changing turbos and/or increasing power beyond 600fwhp, the differences likely become more pronounced.
