The video and commentary was awesome.

It "shouldnt" take nearly that many mods to beat a stock Z06, my car w/ K24's ECU and Exhaust is about even with a 500 rwhp Z06. I would imagine it would beat a stock Z pretty badly.

Quote: I'd say the race went as expected. The Z06 is what 400lbs lighter? Very close in WHP. I am not surprised at all. Of course if you wanted a car to drag race, You would not have bought a porsche. Maybe a nice camaro
+1 here, on the twisties the Z06 will have no chance!

hmmm somethings not adding up here. EVO rates their stage 4 at 615HP. that should easilly pull on a STOCK c6 Z06.

i have k24s, GIAC, exhaust, and panel filter and i am even with a car that pulled on a z06.

nice run though

My car is not an Evo car. I would think that with the weight difference my car should be about 500 whp. Because of the "stage" type questions/comments I've decided to change my sig. I have vid of me racing a 630rwhp 04 cobra twice on the drag strip and beat him by .75 each time. We later met on the street and it was even uglier.

evo or not i think its still pretty much the same software/hardware.

so you have k24s, headers, exhaust, intake, and giac right?

My mods,
K16/24, ported stock headers, b&b lemans exhuast, bmc drop in filter, and Upsolute tuning.

The tuning sources that I've talked to say about 575hp crank.

ahh so that would most likelly explain why he was starting to catch you in the high gears. i think straight k24s would walk.

We'll see, we're running at a higher speed soon.

Certain track times at a famous loop in Germany might say otherwise. The Z06 is all about handling, it is not a drag car, it just happens to do that really well also.

About the weight posts: A stock Z06 seems to dyno 470-480, so they are definitely underated. They also weigh 3100lbs. I ran my wifes (stock) Z06 against a 580 RWHP cobra (it needs some tuning work still) but I was pulling away slowly. Main reason would be his 4900lbs weight. A TT weighs a bit more than the Z06 at 3400lbs. A Turbo putting 550-560 at the wheels should be dead even with a Z06.

hmm i agree on the ajusted waste gates but the software i dont know. giac themselve only write a 91 file, 93 file, and race fuel file.

according to my tuner there isn't that much room on timing and such on the 91 and 93 files. so i can't imagine how much drastically different evos files can be....

there are believe me...Stage 4 is much aggresive all the power range, it does spend more gas as well. I faced myseft 2-3 years ago.

I hate magzine racing, but I have to agree, the stock 996 turbo would get beatn badly on any twistie road, but Indy's car should be able to spank it. And Z06's are from 440-470 for the most part at the rear wheels.

BTW Indykid, what are your trap speeds?????
